There are many reasons why you need a website, but here are the top five:
1) Makes you/your business professional
If you own any type of business, one of the first things on your list should be having a website. These days, it makes it very unprofessional if you say you do this and that, without having a place to direct people online. Think of it as a portfolio, a proof of things you’re credible for, and also keeps you ahead of your competition. Before people commit to buying anything, they do research and 99% of the time, they’ll first look you up on Google. So if you have been looking for a sign on when to get a website, this is it. If you need more reason to, keep on reading.
Here’s a known fact: not everyone is on social media, but does everyone have access to the world wide web? Yes.
2) Expands your reach
Having a website also allows you to build your online reach. Living on an island can sometimes give you an island-style mentality (thinking what you have around you is it). However, having a website allows you to reach beyond that and more. You can reach another person in another state or better yet, you can reach someone in another country. Don’t limit yourself to your friends and family, but be open to who the internet can connect you to.
3) Shows your style
This is probably one of my favorite benefits. With social media, your style and customization options are limited. They are limited to grids, text, and duration of some sort. With your own website, you can customize your colors, give your audience a look and feel of what your brand/company represents. Think of your website as your online home. You can curate your website to your aesthetic/style.
4) Strategically guide your audience/viewers
With social media, we are limited to “click the link in my bio” or “swipe-ups,” which sometimes is too much hassle for your viewers. With your website, you can direct people where to go with call-to-actions or show them your top products/blogs. Content in our social media tends to get buried within 24 hours or these days, even less. By having a strategically designed website, you guide your viewers where to look or even suggest what products may best suit them.
5) Makes you searchable
Do you want your dream clients to find you? Let’s stop for a moment and think. If you want your clients to find you, I’m sure that they took some time on Google or Pinterest (think Google with visuals) doing some research of some sort. When you have a website, your online content/product is forever on the internet, unless of course if you run low on inventory. Having a website allows you to be Googable and will open doors that you may have never even thought of.
